beyonceWe had that whole false start on New Year's Eve, but according to numerous reports, the baby the whole world has been waiting for has finally arrived for real this time. That's right, Beyonce and Jay-Z have blessed the world with their progeny. See, it wasn't a fake baby bump, after all.

According to People, Beyonce gave birth to a baby girl yesterday in New York City. Mother and baby are said to be doing fine, and they even have a name.  A really cute name actually, but already there are critiques and conspiracy theories about it galore.

It's Blue Ivy Carter. Not too out there, but unique. I like it. Of course not everyone likes it, because when it comes to baby names people have no shortage of opinions.

There's speculation already as to what it means. Twitter is going wild with a theory that it means "Illuminati's Very Youngest," which is pretty hilarious. Some have gone even further to say that Blue = Born Living Under Evil.

Others have come up with even more ludicrous ideas such as one that Eulb Yvi (her name backwards) is Lucifer's daughter's name in Latin." Seriously, people?

And of course, the haters have already come out with another trending term on Twitter being #NamesBetterThanIvyBlue. Just what everyone parent wants to hear after working hard to pick the right name for their beloved child. Sheesh. Let's suffice it to say they haven't come up with anything better, but it's a humorous thread to read if you have time to waste. On that note, someone has already created a parody Twitter account for the poor baby. Dear lord.

Name aside, it's an exciting day that has been long awaited since the power couple announced the pregnancy back at the MTV Music Awards back in August. And I think it's safe to say that this time is the real deal based on the amount of congratulations coming the couple's way from a host of celebrities.

Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted this morning: "Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already."

Rhianna, who has already dubbed herself "Aunty Rih," tweeted last night: "Welcome to the world princess Carter!"

Now let the anticipation begin building until we see the pictures of little Blue Ivy.

What do you think of the name Blue Ivy Carter?
