Since she became a mom, Snooki, like lots of "veteran moms", has been doling out baby advice to fellow celebrity parents. And this week, she has some words o' wisdom for Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum, who recently welcomed baby girl Everly.
Although it's hard to take Snooki seriously, she actually has a decent nugget of advice among her tips. The Jersey Shore star eloquently advises Channing to lay off his wife in the beginning weeks of parenthood, because he needs to "give that vag some time to heal."
Not quite sure I would have put it that way, but Snooki does have a point. And while we're at it, here are some other things partners can do to help mama in the early stages of parenthood.
1. Get up at night sometimes. When mama is nursing, no, dad can't help feed, but there are things he can do. When baby starts crying, dad should get up and change the little doll once in a while, and bring mama a drink of water. And if mama isn't nursing, even easier! Dad can give baby a bottle and let his partner get some much-needed rest.
2. Don't try to have sex with your partner in the beginning, guys. Not only are you not supposed to have intercourse during the first six weeks, like Snooki said, give the woman a break. She'll let you know when she's ready. It might not be when you're ready, but she'll eventually come around.

3. Pick up the slack. When your partner first becomes a mom, things that were usually done -- laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping -- will fall to the wayside. Now, this isn't the 1950s, and most couples split chores as is, but when you see something that needs to get done around the house -- be it the trash needs to be taken out or a light bulb needs to get changed -- just do it. Don't ask, just do.
4. Let mama take a nap once in a while. No, moms aren't the only ones exhausted after bringing baby home, but they are sore and super emotional. Offering to take care of the baby while mama gets a solid nap in is the best gift of all.
5. Don't be scared to be alone with the baby! Fact is, some dads are frightened of being left home alone with baby. I've met them. They're nervous that they won't know what to do if the baby starts screaming, etc. Don't be scared. You'll be fine. And it will be a huge help to mama if, when she leaves the house for an hour, you're relaxed and confident, as opposed to visibly freaked out. It's a baby. You're much bigger and smarter. If anything goes wrong, you can handle it.
