There's nothing like a baby product recall to strike fear in the hearts of parents, and the latest comes on the heels of tragedy. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is working to pull all Nap Nanny and Nap Nanny Chill infant recliners and covers off the market after more than 90 incidents involving the baby beds. According to the federal agency, a total of five infant deaths have been linked to the Nap Nanny.

1. The recall is voluntary on the behalf of manufacturer Baby Matters, but it comes on the heels of an administrative case filed by the CPSC in December 2012, which sought a mandatory recall of the Nap Nanny and Chill products. These items are considered dangerous by the CPSC, and this is not a recall to be taken lightly.
2. Of the 92 incidents reported to the CPSC involving babies falling or hanging from the Nap Nanny, some even still restrained in the product's harness, there were five deaths: four infants died in Nap Nanny Generation Two recliners and a fifth death happened in the Chill model.

3. The CPSC alleges the Nap Nanny contains a design defect and that their use presents a "risk of injury" to infants.
4. Baby Matters has gone out of business, so parents cannot turn to them for refunds. Some stores that sold the Nap Nanny -- Amazon.com, Buy Buy Baby, Diapers.com, and Toys R Us/Babies R Us -- did their own voluntary recall last year, and parents may be able to get refunds from them.
5. Parents should dispose of the Nap Nanny immediately. Resale of a recalled item is against federal law.
