kate middleton babyPeople have been wondering and speculating about it since the day the Duchess of Cambridge announced her pregnancy: Will Kate Middleton breastfeed? Some said no, being that she's a busy lady with many obligations; while others actually made public pleas to her to breastfeed. Well, the verdict is finally in. The Duchess is reportedly nursing Prince George Alexander Louis. But before lactivists hold a ticker tape parade and erect a statue in her honor, they should hear what the Duchess truly believes about breastfeeding.

According to a royal source, "Kate feels that it is a matter of personal choice, and that new mums should do whatever feels right for them and their baby." In other words, while breastfeeding may work for Kate, it may not necessarily work for another mom. Because everybody's different. Seems like a pretty great philosophy to me. I think it's wonderful that the Duchess is nursing her little man, but even more wonderful is the fact that, regardless of her choice, she's compassionate, understanding, and respectful toward other moms and their choices. And, let's be honest, that's more than we can say for some people.

If Kate's decision to nurse Baby Cambridge boosts breastfeeding numbers in Britain and beyond, great, awesome. There's little dispute that breast is best. But nothing would be better than if Kate's attitude about breastfeeding became a trend. Gosh, it really would be so nice if the breastfeeding vs. formula war just came to a halt already and we all just stuck together in this motherhood thing. Don't you agree?

What are your thoughts on breastfeeding vs. formula feeding?
