Clik here to view.Connie Britton, the world's best TV mom, is now a mother in real life. Britton, who starred as the incredibly lovable Tami Taylor on the most amazing series you haven't given a chance, Friday Night Lights, just announced to People that she adopted a 9-month-old baby boy from Ethiopia. The baby's name is Yoby, short for his given name Eyob, and the 44-year-old actress is apparently over the moon about her new role as a mommy. Yay!
She had such amazing things to say about her experience holding her son for the first time:
I am thanking my lucky stars every day ... It was such a wonderful moment of completion. I thought I was going to collapse into a puddle of tears. I was just grinning from ear to ear.
Connie isn't the first single woman in Hollywood to adopt a child; Sandra Bullock and Kristin Davis also shared their fulfilling experiences with the public, but I'm incredibly partial to Ms. Britton.
I'm mildly obsessed with her and think she was unfairly robbed at the Emmys when she didn't win the statue for Best Actress in a TV Drama. Connie was able to convince everyone who's ever watched FNL that she's the quintessential mother, wife, and human and I refuse to believe that it was all an act -- that warmth she lit up the screen with had to have come from a natural source within. It had to have, which is why she's going to be a fantastic mom. I just know it.
Yoby is Connie's first child (if you don't count Julie and Gracie Belle), and I'm sure that after her three-year adoption process, the American Horror Story star is looking forward to some quality time with her new son. Congrats, Connie. Remember: Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.
