Next year, Kate Middleton and Prince William will embark on a rather lengthy royal tour of Australia, and yes, Prince George will be accompanying them. But his nanny, on the other hand, will not.
According to reports, the Duke and Duchess (most likely the Duchess) only want close friends and family members being involved with raising their son, so they're hoping to take Kate's mom, Carole, along for the trip, as opposed to Prince George's part-time nanny, Jessie Webb. A source close to the couple said: "They don’t want just anyone helping out in Australia and think Carole would be perfect."
Of course she would be perfect! She's the little prince's granny. What's better than that?
Even though Kate Middleton's job isn't quite like the rest of us working moms', fact is she still has to leave her little one for long stretches of time. And that's hard no matter who you are or what you're doing. From the sounds of things, her and William's Australian royal tour is going to be quite busy, and while I'm sure Jessie Webb is very capable (she was William's nanny after all), what mother wouldn't feel more comfortable leaving their child with their mom, someone who loves their child almost as much as they do, as opposed to a non-relative?
Makes complete sense for Kate to want to bring Carole along for the trip, and I'm sure Carole will be absolutely thrilled to go. A free trip to Australia and unlimited time with her grandson? Everybody wins there.
Who do you think Kate should bring with her to Australia to watch George?
