Kate Middleton's Nanny Quit -- Uh-Oh

Post by Nicole Fabian-Weber.

kate middletonKate Middleton is in a bit of a predicament. The contract for the current nanny she's using -- Jessie Webb, William's former nanny -- is up, and odds are, Webb isn't going to renew it. The short of it is, Webb is kinda old and didn't really want to come out of retirement in the first place, but did Wills a favor. And now that there's a rather long royal tour of Australia and New Zealand a few months away in April, Webb, quite simply, can't hang. Hence, Kate's predicament.

There's talk of leaving little Prince George in daycare for the duration of the trip, but I don't know, I have a hunch Kate won't do that.

JK. Prince George, more likely than not, will be accompanying his parents on their trip in April. They just need to find a nanny. Originally, there was talk of Carole tagging along on the trip to watch her grandson (why not!), but now reports are claiming that was never really an option (why not!). So, now this leaves Kate a few months to sign up for a site, like Care.com, find sitters to interview, check references, and make her decision. JK again! I have no idea what the selection process will be, but I know it won't be like that!

The good news is, Kate has time. And time is of the essence when you're looking to hire a nanny/babysitter. It's not the kind of thing you want to rush, as you want to be as thorough as possible, and interview multiple candidates (even if you think you found your dream nanny the first interview). So, being that it's only January, and Kate will have all the help in the world in choosing a nanny, I'd say she's in good shape.

Looking forward to seeing who they hire. And, Kate, if you haven't made a decision in a few weeks, call me! I have a few recommendations from when I was looking. One question, though: Are smokers okay?

Do you think Kate and William should hire someone younger as George's nanny?
