Post by Nicole Fabian-Weber.

playtex pacifierPlaytex has just issued a massive recall of pacifier holders due to a concern that babies and children could choke if a part of the clip breaks off. The pacifier holders are those little clips that attach to clothing, diaper bags, blankets, and strollers to prevent the paci from getting lost or falling -- you know the ones I'm talking about; they're everywhere. If you, or anyone you know, has a pacifier holder from Playtex, please see the information below and pass along.

How many injuries have there been? Thus far, none have been reported, but Playtex has received 99 reports of the holder breaking or cracking.

What do the holders look like? It's a plastic clip with a figure and a "Playtex" logo that slides up and down to adjust the clip; a ribbon; and a clear plastic ring that stretches to fit the pacifier. The holders were sold in green with a monkey figure; pink with a flower; and blue with a tow truck.

Where are the pacifier holders sold? Walmart; Target; Burlington Coat Factory; and other product, baby, and discount stores nationwide. Online retailers, such as Amazon.com, sold the products, as well.

When was it sold? This item was sold at from July 2010 through October 2013 for about $3.

What do I do if I have one? Consumers should immediately take the recalled pacifier holders away from children and contact Playtex for instructions on how to return the product for a full refund.

Contact info: Consumers can contact Playtex toll-free at (888) 220-2075 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or online at www.playtexproducts.com and click on Recall for more information.
