It's not hard to find out what the most popular baby names are now. But what will Violet, Matilda, and Finn name their babies a generation from now? One brave company has dared to divine the baby names of the future. And their predictions are ... intrepid. "There's a growth in the popularity of 'place names,'" Nameberry's Pam Satran says. "Place names that are popular today, like Savannah and Dakota, are paving the way to more adventurous names in years to come." So maybe Kim and Kanye were a generation ahead of the curve in naming their baby North? Here's more names Satran thinks will be popular for your grandchildren.

Nameberry predicts place names like Beach, Oceana, Nile, and Everest. I say if we're going there, why not Tundra, Pangaea, Thames, and Kilimanjaro? Or Volcano, Eurasia, Volga, and Mont Blanc? I think you can see where I'm going with this.

Rhiannon is supposed to be popular in the future, so I guess they think the pop star Rihanna's career will be long. That's kind of a double prediction, don't you think? I wonder if our children will also be naming their kids CeeLo, Pitbull, Daft Punk, Pharrell, and Gaga.

Unless they're talking about Rhiannon, the Welsh witch? Less-common mythological/fantasy characters are going to be popular in the future, evidently. Or at least, names that sound like they belong in Game of Thrones. Satran predicts Persephone, Sheba, Florin, Lucius, Freeman, and Gower. I say: Daenerys, Tyrion, Cersei, Drogo, Ygritte, and Tywin. What do you think -- are you ready to welcome your baby granddaughter, Melisandre?

Let's go back to that prediction that Lettuce will be a popular name in the future. I have no idea where they're getting that idea, but I can only hope it means Artichoke, Leek, Kale, and Courgette will also be in vogue.

What do you think of these predictions -- what names do you think will be popular a generation from now?
