Actress Amy Adams, who is starring in the upcoming Muppet Movie, is almost impossible not to love. She is adorable, smart, talented, and oh-so-very hilarious. You have to hate her for all that. Except you can't. In the latest issue of InStyle magazine, she also proves she is a cool character when it comes to motherhood.
The 37-year-old actress became a mom 18 months ago when her daughter Aviana Olea was born. She and her boyfriend Darren Le Gallo don't sweat the small things and that is how they stay sane. Worrying about weight isn't her thing.
This is so refreshing in a sea of Hollywood actresses who seemingly take every pound off before they even leave the hospital. Adams tells InStyle:
I read about these actresses who get on a stationary bike two weeks after giving birth and I’m like, "What? Where did you push your baby out of?" Since having Aviana, I have a muffin top, and that’s okay right now.
Amen, Amy! Can I get a whoo-hoo?! How many actresses are willing to say that? It's so refreshing.
She also isn't married to Aviana's dad and that's OK with her. She says:
I’ll say to Darren, "What do you think of May?" and he’ll say, "May. Ha, ha. You just let me know." I just can’t decide! I am putting more pressure on myself now that we have Avi. I’ll figure it out soon.
It's great to see an actress be so open about the back and forth that goes on in her head and show that it isn't all fun and games. And about motherhood, she says:
I’m definitely not one of those women who make it look easy. I’m always running late—and look, there’s guacamole on my purse! But I’m more patient than I ever thought I would be, and I’m not hard on myself anymore.
See, that's motherhood. It IS hard and anyone who tells you otherwise is either not a mom or heavily medicated. I love that she is real and I love that she is unafraid to let the hard parts show. If I didn't love her before, I definitely do now!
