Like many moms, Hollie had an idea in her mind of how she was going to raise her child long before giving birth to her baby girl. She knew the type of mom that she hoped to become and the things that she would and wouldn't allow for Penelope Grace. However, also like many moms, Hollie quickly learned that not everything goes according to plan once baby arrives, and before she knew it, she morphed into the type of mom she was meant to be -- and not the one that her plan dictated.
This meant that not only did Hollie break her own rule when it came to the one thing she promised she'd never do, but it also turned out to be one her favorite parts of motherhood: co-sleeping with Penelope. "I swore I’d never do it, in a million years. Yet, here I am, loving it," she wrote on Instagram. "Most of my favorite moments with this chick are right here, in this bed."

At 13 months old, Penelope is also still continuing her breastfeeding journey, and this adds to her mom's unexpected joy. "I love that I am the mom I never thought I'd be. Every journey in motherhood is different," she wrote. "Every mom has to do what meets her and her child's needs. Every mom has her own story, I'm just thankful for ours."
