Simon Cowell’s a daddynow! The notoriously judgy judge of the British X Factor welcomed a son with girlfriend Lauren Silverman on February 14 in New York City, Us Weekly confirms.
It’s the first child for Cowell, and second for Silverman, who has a 7-year-old son with ex-husband Andrew Silverman. Cowell and Silverman caused quite the controversy last summer when the pregnancy was revealed -- seeing as how she was still married at the time and knew Cowell through his friendship with her husband.
But all’s well that ends well, and the new parents seem totally smitten with each other and their growing family.
Simon has already been doting on his baby mama and their unborn child. When talking about an ultrasound scan last fall, he got all sentimental and said, “I went to see a scan today and it is just surreal. You literally see this thing which is now alive moving around. I feel very paternal right now. I'm very happy.”
And he threw the sweetest baby shower ever for Lauren in December.
And he wants to marry her as soon as possible.
It looks like Simon has a soft underbelly after all. Who’d have thunk we’d ever see him twitterpated over becoming a family men? It’s going to be fun to see if his famously acerbic personality mellows out even more.
